My involvement in ABC has helped me grow my business through networking with other contractors and by giving me the ability to start new relationships.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I would say that the most rewarding thing that could take place in my profession is having the ability to take care of other people's needs and to see the impact it has on their business/lives.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK?

The hobbies that I enjoy outside of work consist of fishing, golf/other sports, billiards, and travel.

DO YOU HAVE ADVICE FOR OTHER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS?
The advice that I would give to other young professionals is to hold yourself accountable for your words and actions. What we say we will accomplish and whether or not we follow through can make or break us in life, especially in business. Being men, or women, of our word is the catalyst with starting and maintaining relationships, which in my opinion are the most important things in business. Whether we are conscious about it all the time or not, it still has the same impact on others so be conscious about it and make sure to keep your word.

Becoming a Search and Rescue Swimmer for the US Navy.

DO YOU HAVE ADVICE FOR OTHER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS?

JUSTIN YASKOWSKI

Account Executive
Penn Outdoor Services
TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOB AND WHAT YOU DO:
I am responsible for business development as it relates to exterior maintenance services.

WHAT IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR DAY?
Personally, it's being around my family. My wife and I have two young kids, 3 and a half years old and a 3-month-old and we have so much fun with them. On a professional level, it's the people I get to interact with. Whether it is a conversation with a co-worker, client meeting, trade show, or networking with other industry professionals, just being able to meet and learn about other people is something I love. And fortunately for me, I get to do that every day.

LESSON YOU'VE LEARNED IN YOUR CAREER OTHER YPS SHOULD HEAR OR LEARN FROM?

Don't ruin relationships. Sometimes it is out of our control from a business perspective (i.e. a job doesn't go well), however we control our personal relationships with people. It's amazing how an old boss/coworker or an old client can pop back into your life years later for a number of various reasons.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE?
"It was never said unless it was written"

WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE?
Performing a job that far exceeds client expectation. There are the obvious reasons why this is rewarding-- having an extremely happy client and gaining additional work in the future. But for me, it's the pride and respect I gain for my company for doing such outstanding quality work. As a salesman, it's always easier to sell a service you truly believe in.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Family, Friends, & Golf.

CAMILLE MARIA URBANO

Corporate Development Manager
Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley
TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOB AND WHAT YOU DO:
I joined the Habitat Lehigh Valley family as Volunteer Manager in October 2015 where I was responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing the volunteer program (construction, non-construction, special events, committees). Currently as the Corporate Development Manager, in addition to overseeing the volunteer program, I work with our corporate partners on our Team Builder Program.

Our involvement with ABC has been a wonderful resource for networking, as well as sharing our Habitat for Humanity mission with others in the field.

That's a tough one! Probably a tie between "Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything" and "It's never too late to start your day over."

WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE?
The most rewarding professional experience for me are our Habitat Home Dedications. Home dedications are the frosting on the Habitat cake, so to speak. They are the sweet celebrations of Habitat families completing the process of homeownership. The dedication ceremonies include recognition of the hard work of volunteers, the support of our sponsors, words of appreciation from the new homeowners, and end with presenting the homeowners with their new house keys! These dedication ceremonies are the concrete manifestation that our mission is working. Participating in the home dedications fill my heart with incredible joy and satisfaction and inspire me to keep my eye on the Habitat prize, which is to provide our families with a decent home in a safe neighborhood.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Outside of work I enjoy doing PiYo (pilates and yoga), traveling and exploring new cities and different cuisines, and spending as much time with my family and friends as possible. I grew up on a lake in Upstate, NY so anytime I am by water I am happiest.

DO YOU HAVE ADVICE FOR OTHER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS?
My advice would be, "don't pass up a chance to learn". Find out what your colleagues, or leaders, in your profession are reading such as books, professional publications, and websites. Seek out professional development opportunities and participate in them as much as possible. Join professional organizations (like the ABC Young Professionals), and get involved! And most importantly, engage people in meaningful conversation in order to network and develop relationships throughout the community and beyond.

When I first started to get involved in ABC, it was uncomfortable and intimidating, but I believe that is what helped me to get out of my comfort zone and continue to shape who I am today. I have always tried to compare myself to other YPs, and learn as much from them as I can.

HOW HAS YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN ABC EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER HELPED YOU?
All of the relationships I have formed, and mentors I have learned from, have transformed me into who I am today, and who I strive to be like. ABC Members are always willing to help the YPs.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE?
"If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

DO YOU HAVE ADVICE FOR OTHER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS?
Given to me by Paul Ziegler from Allan Myers; 1. Be on time, 2. Show up every day, 3. Keep an open mind.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOB AND WHAT YOU DO:
As a producer with Wharton Surety & Atlantic Underwriting, I help contractors obtain surety bonding credit. Bonding is required for government funded projects as well as select large, commercial projects and by helping business owners/executives obtain their desired levels of bonding credit, I help them grow their respective businesses.

WHAT IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR DAY?
The highlight of my day is meeting new people! I've always thoroughly enjoyed getting to know new people and learning about their lives, their families, and their personal goals. The fact that my job requires me to meet new people every day is why I love being in sales.

HOW HAS YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN ABC EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER HELPED YOU?
Being involved with ABC Eastern PA has been a great experience for me as it has helped me to meet more people with who, I have a lot in common with, and also helped me to grow my business. Amanda Strzempek was the first person I met from ABC, and she has continuously gone out of her way to make introductions and ensure I continue to get value out of the time I spend with ABC.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE?
"Make an Effort, Not an Excuse" -- Not certain who originated this quote, but my Grandmother used to say this to me when I would make excuses for why I did not think I could achieve my goals. Eventually, the advice sunk in, and I realized that if I stopped making excuses for myself and I simply put forth the required effort, I could accomplish whatever I set out to do.

WHAT BUSINESS/LEADERSHIP/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT BOOK DO YOU RECOMMEND?
"How to Win Friends and Influence People -- In the Digital Age" by Dale Carnegie. The book  had very relevant and updated information/tools that I believe each and every one of us can benefit from in today's digital world. It was a very well written book, and was a quick and easy read. Well worth your time!

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I am a serious foodie. My wife and I head out most weekends to find the best food in the Philadelphia area. I love taking "walking food tours" around the city or suburbs while we sample the best appetizers, snacks and dishes. We also schedule these walking food tours into our vacations as we travel around the country. In my opinion, Philadelphia has some of the best food/chefs/restaurants in the country, so do yourself a favor and take a Saturday, or two, to explore the food scene in Philly! Also, feel free to ask me for suggestions, I am happy to guide you!
