EASTERN PA COMMITTEES 
The committees are charged to accomplish ABC Eastern PA’s mission by working effectively in one of four major initiatives with the guidance of the Board of Directors and assistance of the Chapter staff.

Business Development & Programs
Made up of 8 or more members who are interested in defining value for members of ABC Eastern PA and believe in networking events, monthly membership meetings and networking Peer to Peer groups. Assist members in development of new business and promote the use of merit shop firms to construction users.

This committee is responsible for the successful running of the EIC Awards Banquet, Golf Tournament, Peer to Peer Groups and the sub-committee for diversity. Recommends events and programs for Board of Directors approval.

Chapter Growth 
Made up of at least 5 or more volunteers who are members with ABC.  This group concerns itself with recruitment of new members who share the merit shop philosophy.  To assimilate and retain these members into the work of ABC. The retention of current membership.  Encourages members to get involved in a committee, special events along with monthly membership. This group will also discuss and implement membership recruitment plans, benefits and services. This group can meet monthly or when needed.

Education & Training 

Made up of 8 or more members who are representative of the various contracting trades: HVAC; Masonry; Plumbing; Sheet Metal; Electrical; Carpentry

This committee’s mission is to improve the construction industry through training of highly motivated and skilled individuals within a merit shop philosophy. This committee works with staff with the approved Department of Labor Apprenticeship program, Craft Training courses, and Management courses. This group assists in the hiring of new instructors and handles any formal complaints from membership regarding course content and NCCER.

This committee will recommend yearly changes to the Board of Directors for approval. This group meets monthly. This committee will have a sub committee called Technology Committee that focuses on new technologies.

Executive & Finance

Made up of the officers of the Board of Directors. The committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors in the areas of: Budget & Financials; Personnel Issues; Chapter Operational Issues

This committee meets monthly and reviews monthly and YTD financials as presented by the Treasurer and any personnel issues that the President has had to deal with. This group meets monthly.

Legislative   

Made up of 8 or more members who are pro-active on behalf of their businesses and ABC when it comes to legislative issues impacting our industry. Monitors and reviews legislation and related matters. Recommends policy for the Board of Directors. Help to improve our relationships with governing bodies on all levels of government. Conducts campaigns for the PAC State Political Action committee and national ABC PAC. Recommends endorsements for local, state and national candidates to the Board of Directors.

New Member Involvement

Made up of at least 5 or more volunteers who are members with ABC. This group acts as "Ambassadors" for new members who just joined. The plan is to get these members to get involved once they have joined. It is recommended that they get involved in one committee, take advantage of our networking opportunities, educational seminars and formal training programs. They can meet and greet new members at monthly membership meetings and other special events. This group meets monthly.

Safety 

This group is made up of safety officers or employees responsible for safety with their companies who are members of ABC. To aid the membership in the promotion of safety education and to keep members informed of the trends and changes in the administration of the national safety laws. This group is more of a mentoring group and meets monthly. Some of the key yearly emphasis are: STEP Awards; STEP Banquet; OSHA Partnership; Monthly Safety meetings & seminars
