Safety is a basic core value for ABC Members. Returning workers home safely to their families at the end of every work day is imperative. ABC is proud to offer a number of safety services and tools to assist our members in maintaining a safe workplace. We offer a full range of safety services, consulting and training is now available to your company.

Custom and In-House Training

Custom training seminars and workshops can be developed specifically for your company and employee needs and is delivered on ABC premises for you. A key benefit is that the training will focus on the areas you have chosen. 

In-House training is training that is conducted at your place of business, during the day or evening. This option provides an added convenience to your employees as well as encouraging your employees to learn and grow together as a team.  Key benefits include: a schedule that you choose, the use of your facilities, a place more convenient for your employees, and the ability to help ensure the success of the training program.

Fees for Custom and In-House Training are greatly affected by: the specific type and duration of training, the number of participants, curriculum resources, professional fees, and travel costs for the trainer or instructor, and other various items.

osha partnership

The cooperative ABC/OSHA effort provides benefits to participating companies who voluntarily improve their safety and health performance while demonstrating the implementation of an effective safety and health program. Benefits include: Special Recognition from OSHA, Priorities in Compliance Assistance Activities, and Inspection Incentives such as focused inspections and applicable penalty reduction factors.

safety training & evaluation Process (step)

Established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee, the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors. There is no charge for this service (Unless applying for STEP Platinum, Diamond, or ordering extra certificates) and your responses are strictly confidential. Benefits include an organized approach for analyzing and developing safety and loss prevention programs; a valid, objective method for measuring safety program improvement; and a safety performance recognition useful in business development.

The Accredited Quality Contractor Program was launched in 1993. It is an accreditation program which publicly recognizes and honors those construction firms which have documented their commitment in 4 key areas of corporate responsibility: Safety (STEP Gold or Platinum required), Employee Benefits, Training, and Community Relations.

Toolbox Talks
